Weekly AMV - Hungry Like the Wolf

This week’s AMV is a real treat and if it weren’t for a patient of mine, dudeman23, I would have completely forgotten about it. So the song is “Hungry Like the Wolf” by Duran Duran. Not a fan of 80’s music? Well never fear, this song is actually covered by Reel Big Fish and the result is one of the best covers I have ever come across. Its rare that I’d prefer a cover over the original but it just seems Reel Big Fish nailed the attitude and point of this song. And what better anime to match to this song?
Lupin the 3rd
Ah yes, one of anime’s classics but why is this such a perfect fit for this song? Well for one, Lupin is a womanizing rebel who constantly finds himself in trouble which totally meshes perfectly with the tone of the song. Not too mention that Reel Big Fish’s ska rifts and high tempo are perfect for Lupin’s high octance action and chases and other shanigans.
Not sold yet? Well, did I fail to mention that “Lupin” is French for “Wolf”? Perfect fit, don’t ya think?
